Ticket. “We will govern soon…” but with whom?

So here we are, a week away from the start of the school year, a time of traffic jams, big resolutions and, incidentally, Jean-Luc Mélenchon .
The summer university of La France Insoumise was held once again this year in Chateauneuf-sur-Isère, a stone's throw from Valence. Debates, guests, and a speech from the "boss." Tradition. With his trademark tone and eloquence, leader Mélenchon once again undid and remade the world, denounced the "abomination of genocide" underway in Gaza, and the European leaders "who lick Mr. Trump's slippers..." And declared: "The gringos don't make the law here." All this before calling for a general strike on September 10, as a prerequisite for the motion of censure that his party will table to overthrow the Bayrou government.
There would be much to say and write about the LFI meeting in Drôme, which is what a journalist from Le Monde would have liked to do if the Insoumis hadn't barred him from entering. He, the author of a book that displeased them. There is also much to say about Jean-Luc Mélenchon's conclusion: "We will govern soon."
Us? Who us? Knowing that the New Popular Front is in trouble, we don't see, today, how LFI could govern alone or even with support. Unity is still possible; environmentalist Marine Tondelier is even calling for it for the 2027 presidential election. However, the personality and ambition of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, whatever he says, remain problematic, to say the least, with potential partners. Will this September 10, which should unite the left, have a future? Will Mélenchon's omnipresent "I" merge into a unifying "We"?
With one week to go before the start of the school year, it's time for traffic jams and big resolutions. To be continued...
